A 14-day trial starts on first launch (LicenseManager.trialDurationDays). Activate a VH1-… key under Settings → License (offline Ed25519).

Trial and Pro both set isProEffective (multi-ASR, intent model, shell, custom history).
When the trial clock elapses, no relaunch is required: the next license query drops to Free and re-applies preference gates (expireTrialIfNeeded). Without an activated key you stay on Free limits.
