Shortcuts & recording
Default shortcuts
Section titled “Default shortcuts”On first launch, the app uses these defaults. Change them under Settings → Shortcuts:

Each mode also has a second shortcut, initially unbound. Middle mouse button is the command shortcut; voice typing defaults to Right Command.
These are fresh-install defaults. Upgrades preserve saved bindings; check your actual shortcuts in Settings.
Trigger modes
Section titled “Trigger modes”Choose a trigger mode for each shortcut slot:

While recording, pressing any bound function shortcut immediately ends the current recording and processes it in its current mode. That press does not start a second mode. Presets can also assign different modes to a shared chord’s tap, hold, or double-click gesture.
Modifier keys, mouse & trackpad
Section titled “Modifier keys, mouse & trackpad”You can bind individual left/right Command, Option, Control, or Shift keys, Caps Lock, Fn, mouse middle click, 3/4/5-finger trackpad taps, and 4/5-finger Force Clicks. Availability depends on your device and the events supported by macOS.
Quick Send
Section titled “Quick Send”Enable Quick send (Return key) under Settings → Shortcuts → Auxiliary Keyboard Behaviors. Return while recording finishes the turn, attempts to insert the text, then presses Return to send. You can also press Return during recognition or resolution to queue sending after completion. Sending depends on the destination app and the insertion result.
The same section offers Auto-send on hold release for text-entry modes. Both behaviors override the normal output action for that turn.
Overlay & cancellation
Section titled “Overlay & cancellation”The recording overlay shows audio levels and the current phase. Settings → Shortcuts → Auxiliary Keyboard Behaviors → Cancel recording with Escape controls Esc. You can also use the overlay close control or voicehotkey://cancel (see Deeplinks).
- Cancelling recording discards that recording.
- Cancelling ordinary polish or translation attempts to deliver the original transcript when available.
- Cancelling a selection rewrite does not insert the spoken instruction.
- Closing a result card dismisses it without automatically copying.
Menu bar & remote desktop
Section titled “Menu bar & remote desktop”Settings → General controls menu bar visibility and its color/black-and-white style. The app keeps at least a menu bar or Dock entry available.
For a Windows remote desktop, bind a voice shortcut without Control, then hold extra Control to trigger the remote-input variant. It uses Ctrl+V and keeps the text on the clipboard for the remote client to sync. Results depend on the client’s clipboard settings. The default typing key, Right Command, can use extra Control; the default translation key, Right Control, already includes Control and does not use this extra-modifier entry. See Output action.
