Output action
Path: Settings → General → Output action. Choose the text’s destination, then its insertion method.
Available actions

Auto-copy when no field is on by default: when there is clearly no editable focus, the text goes straight to the clipboard. With this option off, or if copying fails, the app shows a result card you can click to copy. Browsers and chat apps may expose incomplete Accessibility information, so the app still attempts insertion there.
Insertion & clipboard
Section titled “Insertion & clipboard”For actions that insert text, you can also configure:
- Insertion method: Smart (default), Accessibility, clipboard paste, or typing. Smart chooses a method based on the target app and insertion results.
- Keep transcript on clipboard after insert: off by default.
- Restore previous clipboard after paste: on by default. If both clipboard options are enabled, keeping the transcript takes priority.
If Accessibility permission is missing, the app offers permission or copy guidance. When macOS Secure Input blocks synthetic keys, it attempts to copy the text and asks you to paste manually. Failed insertion or an unsafe send check can suppress automatic Return; check the field and status message.

Auto-send on hold release on the Shortcuts page can also request sending. Quick Send and hold-release sending override that turn’s output action, while still following insertion and send checks. See Shortcuts & recording.
Windows remote desktop
Section titled “Windows remote desktop”Bind a voice shortcut without Control, then hold extra Control to trigger the remote-input variant. It uses Ctrl+V and keeps the text on the clipboard. Right Command, the default typing key, supports extra Control; Right Control, the default translation key, does not use this extra-modifier entry. The remote client must allow clipboard sync; its settings, the destination window, and focus affect results.
