Query aliases: mode / mode_id / voice_mode. Voice typing modes: dictation / typing / type / voice / input / d.
Recording host aliases: start≈record≈listen, stop≈end≈finish, cancel≈escape≈abort. finish-recording is the safe finish-capture action.
An omitted mode defaults to dictation. An explicit unsupported mode or settings page shows an error in the HUD; it does not fall back to another mode or page.

When busy
Section titled “When busy”If a session is already recording, or recognize / polish / execute is still running, another start is ignored and the HUD shows a busy hint. While recording, stop ends and processes the session; during processing, stop and its legacy alias finish cancel current work. finish-recording only ends recording and is a no-op in other states. cancel explicitly cancels active work. toggle follows the current session state.
Command mode requires both Enable voice commands and Allow command-mode DeepLinks. The latter is off by default and only gates external links; hotkeys are unaffected. See Voice commands.

Cold start
Section titled “Cold start”If the app is not ready yet, deeplinks are queued and run after the pipeline starts. The queue retains at most 16 items; excess links are dropped and reported in the HUD. Invalid links also show their reason in the HUD.
